The Albany Junior Soccer Association (AJSA) caters for players, both boys and girls, from Pre-Primary to Year 12. Games are played on Saturdays during Terms 2 and 3 on the soccer grounds at North Rd, Albany. Teams also generally play one round in either Denmark or Mount Barker.
Players play in age groups according to their year at school so that they have the opportunity to play with their friends.
This is to promote fair leagues and competitive games which in turn assists with the balance of development and fun. We encourage coaches and clubs to be mindful of their recruitment processes but understand that kids also wish to play with their friends.
The AJSA is run by volunteers which assists keeping costs to a minimum to try and make soccer one of the most affordable activities to participate in.
At primary school players generally represent their school. Once they have reached high school they can opt to play for one of our independent clubs. To contact a club for your child to join please refer to the Clubs page the age groups that clubs cater for are on the right hand side. The independent clubs have a direct link to their respective facebook pages by clicking their logos.
Our younger players play a Small Sided Game format called MiniRoos as developed by The Football Federation of Australia and Football West. Year 7 and upwards play the traditional game of 11 v 11 including “offside”.
The Association also competes in the annual Regional Country Week Tournament in Perth against representative sides from other regional centres. Trials are held early in the season for selection into these teams.
Our association crest is a shield with a Football representing the earth as “The World Game”, showing our country of Australia with our region of the Great Southern highlighted in green. Locally known as the rainbow coast there is a rainbow leaving the south coast encircling the “The World Game”.
The Association is run by a committee of volunteers whose contact details are listed under Committee.
